The boys and I ate pizza at (of all places) Subway cause that's where Ethan wanted to go,
I will post pictures later. My computer is acting wacky and I can't download them right now. The boys were really funny at Subway.

Our First Girly Gift

I've been meaning to post this for a long time but have had problems with my camera. My sweet friend Melanie and her family gave us this precious gift for our little girl. Oh, how sweet. We don't have anything pink in the house

How cute, the boys love to push the button that plays music every time they pass by this stroller.
Can't wait for our little girl to push this around the house and play girly things.
Thank you Melanie. :)
My heart yearns to meet our precious little girl.

Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I set you apart for my Holy purpose. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.

Unfortunately, he is not here today but we did celebrate last week. I love you Mikey! All the sand!! Can't wait for you to get home this week.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW!

I can't believe Matthew turned 6 last week. Wow! It seems like yesterday he was a baby.

What a wonderful blessing God has given us. Matthew you are such a precious child of God. You are all boy, full steam ahead, and you keep me on my toes for sure. You have been a blessing beyond words to our family. I love how God made you perfectly, your cheesy smile, your love for others, all your special hugs and most of all your loving heart.

We celebrated with of course a jumper party at our home. Here's a picture of Matthew and a few of his buddies. We all had a great time. I love you Matthew will all my heart. I pray for you daily that soon you will understand where all that love comes from .. Our sweet savior JESUS.

I can't wait to see how you grow over this next year.

OUR BIG NEWS!!

We are adopting a little girl from China. :)

I know many of you are saying What?? Why?? How???

Mike and I have been on this journey for over a year now. God has been calling us, woeing us to something BIG!! About 6 months ago, He revealed it to me by breaking my heart for orphans. And then breaking my heart for a precious little girl in China. I prayed for what seemed like months before I approached Mike with what God had laid on my heart. Mike was on board immediately. I thank the Lord for this daily.

My heart is filled with an overwhelming Love for a daughter that I haven't seen yet but God choose for us long before the earth was set into place.

Why China?

Because that's where our daughter is. It just feels right. God has given us peace and affirmation that she is in China. We are on a faith journey with Christ. We know he will lead us to this precious little girl.

We are in the very beginings of the adoption process, it will take 12-18 months for this to become final. We are asking for support and prayers from our family and friends as we work through this process and for our little girl that could already be in an orphanage in China.

Philippians 4:6 -Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.

Matthew 21:22 - And all things you ask in prayer and believing you will recieve.

Again, I can't tell you how excited we are to share this with all our family and friends.

IT'S THE LITTLE THINGS...

So, I said I wanted to share with you how God is present in our lives. It always amazes me that if we just keep our eyes open we will see Him around us. Well, Matthew started Kindergarden a few weeks ago, yes I did cry my eyes out, my baby is growing up. He's lovin it and I'm adjusting to the routine (getting up at 6am) and not having him around as much. Oh how I miss summer time. After we went to meet Matthew's teachers and see his class room, we decided to treat the kids to dinner at a restaurant. As we left the school it was very dark with heavy rain clouds. Matthew says, "it's gonna rain and we are gonna see a rainbow". Well, I just thought yes it is gonna rain but I doubt we see a rainbow. As we drove around the school, what did we begin to see...

We couldn't believe it.. As we drove toward the restaurant we saw the complete rainbow.. I don't think I had ever seen a rainbow so brillant and full. You see I was very anxious that Matthew was starting school. It was like God was saying " I love you, all is gonna be okay". I love rainbows and have since I was a teenager. This picture doesn't do this rainbow justice, I took it on my phone. Once we were inside it rained and rained...but the rainbow was still there.

Matthew was mesmerized by this rainbow. It was beautiful. We had a great meal and the boys had lots of fun as you can see...

We need to remember God is always with us. We just need to open our eyes and look around.

Welcome to the Birdsong Blog

Okay, so I know there's not a picture in the frame of our blog. You see I am challenged when it comes to the computer. It will be fixed soon. I am so excited to start our blog. We have been so blessed this year. God has really stretched Mike and I on our faith journey this past year. We have had some amazing experiences that I will soon share with you all. Our kids are growing like weeds and have had lots of fun activities this summer to share with you. Here's one of the cool ways God showed us his glory this summer.

I promise I didn't do anything to this photo.

One afternoon this summer, the boys begged for some ice cream, so I agreed and when we opened the ice cream look what we saw... God was smiling at us. We couldn't believe our eyes.

Deuteronomy 5:24

You said, 'Behold, the LORD our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire; we have seen today that God speaks with man, yet he lives.
